Are there still any legitamate schemes available

The last year has seen are real crackdown on SDLT schemes. Are there any viable ones still available. Even the unlimited company scheme with an in spicie distribution requires non-disclosure to a mortgage lender.

It all depends on what you mean by “legitimate” and also what the tax tribunal decides if any SDLT avoidance scheme cases reach them for decision. There certainly are no SDLT schemes that have been “approved” by HMRC as I read recently in some sales literature produced by a scheme provider.
